- The hardware on the machine currently is Cold Wire Tig. The welding power supply is a 300 plus amp DC unit. We used it mostly to weld 11 ga. 304 and 316. I suspect we also welded 16 ga. with it. There is really no reason it would not weld it. It’s just a matter of synchronizing amperage and wire feed rate to get an acceptable weld. A MIG or Sub arc head could also be used although the power supply, weld head and feeder would need to be changed. The base extension is bolted and can be removed. The person who operated is now a full time fire fighter. He does come in to run it when we have a job. I’m sure we can make arrangements to have him here for a demonstration. The mechanical operation is very simple. The prospective buyer needs to know how to weld. I have no problem with anyone making a video. Pandjiris is still in business, Powcon and Cyclomatic are serviced by ARC incorporated in California. I don’t know the weight but would guess between 4000 and 6500 pounds. We can load it and I don’t see any reason to disassemble it.
Basically these are the components that are included if we sell it.
Pandjiris seamer with water cooled mandrel bar, pneumatic hold downs and sheet lineup gauge, infinite speed control of weld head travel Powcon 460/3phase constant current power supply for TIG use. The current output is adjustable up to 300 plus amps. It has high frequency start. Water cooled (Miller closed circuit cooler) cold wire TIG torch. The feeder unit has infinite wire speed control. Torch height control uses arc length to keep the tip of the tungsten and welded material constant.
Our larger JetLine seamer has a MIG unit on it and at one time had a TIG unit. We still run the Pandjiris but not as much as we used to. The Pandjiris portion runs on 120 single phase. The welder is strapped for 440 3 phase. The unit as far as I know and based on the documentation can be strapped 440 or 220. I cannot read the data plate on top of the welder but everyone of them I have taken apart was dual voltage and a not on ARC Products Inc. web site shows the strapping links in 220 and 440.
If we sell it there is a walkway/platform that goes with it. Your pictures may show a large Miller welder beside it. The Miller welder is not part of it. The red colored Powcon is the welder that goes with it. In fact I have another Powcon just like it I would sell.
