Model 2901-108 Automatic Gear Burnishing S/N #12277
Best Use For burnishing external gears, spur or helical, from 20 - 75mm in size. Removes or reduces nicks and burrs while improving surface finish. Used instead of honing and finish grinding when process calls only for nick and burr removal. Designed for symmetrical gears which can be rolled on the major diameter.
Function Gears are rolled into and rolled out of machine. Gears are captured between three burnishing tools and rolled while the work piece is oscillated parallel with the tooling. Area is flooded with coolant. Work piece bore and tooling dies bore are parallel and in the horizontal (H) plane.
Advantages High speed, process improvement, long tool life (500,000 - 750,000 cycles).
For use with 1-3" Gears
