| —: Offered for sale is a Bridgeport Series I in
excellent condition.
Currently under power and located in a one man
machine shop that is being liquidated.
A few years ago, I upgraded this machine to a 2
axis cnc with 3 axis readout by installing an
Anilam Millpowr control and an A&T power
drawbar.
There is a 4 inch riser installed on the
column.
The head was gone thru only a couple of years
ago and is in excellent condition.
Ways are chrome and they are in excellent
condition
There is a new automatic oiler pump installed.
This machine is incredible for 2 axis work as
the control accepts a .dxf file, and if done
correctly is Very fast and accurate. The
technique is a little difficult to discover,
but extremely simple to use, and I will give it
to the buyer.

• Head is mounted to heavy duty ram with knuckle joint, for maximum rigidity. Worm gear arrangement provides head tilts ± 45° front to rear and swivels ± 90° left to right for added versatility. Head and ram assembly can be easily rotated a full 360°
• 4 HP Constant, manual variable speed drive, dynamically balanced head with high velocity cooling system
• 55 - 4,250 RPM Infinite variable spindle speed in hi-low ranges for maximum torque and horsepower. Round tooth timing belt for high torque at low speed ranges
• Hard chromed 3-3/8" diameter quill with precision ground rack
• Four Fafnir® P-7 (or Barden® P-7) spindle bearings on super precision NST-40 taper spindle.
• Head mounted with forward-neutral-reverse switch and column mounted coolant on-off switch
• The high tensile strength castings normally have a Brinnell® hardness of 190 to 230HB while hardened surfaces, such as: ways, table top and front, are approximate 480HB, or about Rockwell® 50C scale
• Precision hardened and ground table surface, and with combination box and dovetail design hardened and ground ways

• Leadscrews rolled and ground to provide better accuracy and with a high nickel content to improve durability. Adjustable anti-backlash nuts allow for compensation as the machine ages
• Double nut assembly provides backlash adjustment of longitudinal and cross feed screws to eliminate backlash due to wear

• One-shot central lubrication system provides oil to all sliding surfaces, nuts and leadscrews
